Bolivia Mission Trip

Overview

Thank you so much for your interest in our Bolivia Mission Trip. It is such a popular trip that all of our volunteer slots for speakers, VBS, construction and support staff are now filled. However, we do still need 3-5 more medical personnel for clinics. If you are a medical professional, we invite you to register. If not, we encourage you to consider the Dominican Republic or Puerto Rico trips in 2022! We look forward to seeing you.

Bolivia is a landlocked country in South America bordering several countries including Brazil, Peru, and Chile. It is one of the poorest countries of the continent with a very low GDP average. The people there are very warm and friendly. It is a country of great need, and God will use you to make a huge difference in Cochabamba. The Bolivian Union and Central Bolivian Conference office is there. There is a large TV & Radio Studio that broadcasts across the country, yielding hundreds of baptisms every year. The area is very ripe for a harvest. Medical work will be very effective in this area, and we will run a clinic in the mornings where professionals can consult with patients. At night, we will conduct evangelism and children’s programming. People of all ages and skill levels are needed.

Primarily Spanish with some local dialects

Religion
Nearly 80% of the country claims Roman Catholicism as their belief system. The remaining portion is primarily Protestant and Evangelical.

Climate
The climate is moderate in Cochabamba due to the mountain range and elevation. The average temperature fluctuates between 70 and 90 degrees. South American seasons are opposite of North America.

Currency
Bolivianos or Bolivians. The currency exchange is about 7 Bolivianos to 1USD. Many items tend to be cheaper in Bolivia than the US.

Power
Most outlets are 220 and are fitted for a 110. You should check your items to make sure they can accommodate higher voltages. If not, you will need to bring a converter for items such as curling irons, beard trimmers, etc.

Time Difference
Bolivia is in the GMT-4 time zone, which is one hour ahead of Eastern time zone.

Water
Drink only unopened bottled water or other drinks unless you confirm that it is purified.

Entry Requirements

1. US Passport not expiring within 6 months of arrival
2. Return flight info
3. $160 cash to purchase Bolivian Visa upon arrival
4. Printed Hotel Information
5. Letter of invitation from the Conference (We will provide)
6. Negative Covid Test result within 72 hours of departure. A Covid vaccine is not required
7. A negative Covid Test result within 24 hours of returning to the US. We will arrange this for the group. The cost is about $70 USD per person for the test.
